Our new compilation CD features 14 songs of 13 bands, and this time most of the songs on it are previously unreleased (MELIAH RAGE and METAL LAW), previously unreleased versions (SKELATOR, BATTLERAGE, NOMAD SON and ARKHAM WITCH), or rare tracks previously only self-released by the bands (MORTALICUM and STONEGRIFF). Apart from this, there are new songs (SACRED GATE and ATTACKER), and only 3 songs are taken from our 2011 and 2012 releases (OUTRAGE, HERETIC and AFTER OBLIVION).

The CD, released with an informative 8 pages booklet (this time we didn't include the back catalogue as we decided there's no use, mostly because it becomes outdated soon), and jam-packed with old school metal in various styles (70 minutes of music), costs 6,00 Euro, but you can have it for 4,00 Euro if you order it with a regular CD from our catalogue (we have added this option to every single CD page in our SHOP). You can purchase the bundle of "Compendium of Metal" Vol 5 + Vol 6 as well - this 2-CD bundle costs only 8,00 Euro. When we were preparing the layout for the new compilation, we thought METAL LAW "Hellride" would be released in November, but unfortunately the band will not manage to finish the album in time for this release slot. We hope it will be in out in 2014.

During the recording sessions, SACRED GATE recorded one more song that is not included in the album - they covered "Warriors of the World United" by MANOWAR. You can listen to it and watch the clip they prepared at this location. Here's what the band's guitarist Nicko Nikolaidis had to say about it: "SACRED GATE have been influenced by MANOWAR and 'Warriors of the World United' is a mighty heavy song, a metal hymn we still have in our live set and each time we play this song it makes the hair on my neck stand up."

When you give METAL LAW's second full-length effort "Lawbreaker" a spin, it won't take long until you realize what this band is about. As evidenced by the group's name, heavy metal is the law when you listen to their songs - there is no compromise, no "in-between" attempts to blend in with the modern metal music that has changed so much from its origins. It's these origins that METAL LAW focus on, bringing back traditional heavy metal as it was meant to be, with lots of soloing, melodic leads and quick, rolling rhythms.

In the meantime, METAL LAW were busy writing new songs. 4 of them were recorded in December 2012/January 2013. One of the songs, entitled "In Metal We Trust", was chosen for the "Compendium of Metal Vol. 6" compilation CD which will be out on April 19th, while the remaining three constituted "Lord of Evil" EP which the band made available for streaming and downloading directly from their website at the end of March.

Stated the band:
"With 'Lord of Evil' we want to give metal fans around the world a chance to get their hands at new material from Metal Law as quickly as possible. We are quite proud of the result of our recent studio work and we hope everyone who hears it will enjoy it."

The upcoming 3rd full-length album "Hellride" is in the works and will be probably finalized and released in 2014.

There are rather few bands that play this purest style of the heaviest music and do it with real class and with balls (contrary to the melancholic and depressive/emotional Doom style), so when we come across one, there's a big smile plastered on our faces as we hit the "play" button over and over again.

Such was the case with Swedish STONEGRIFF. When they contacted us and we checked the songs from their MySpace page, it didn't end on just one or two listens. We were coming back to those songs and playing them repeatedly many more times. What grabbed our attention and eventually won us over were not only the crushing riffs to die for but mostly the vocals with so much charisma that is really rare to find nowadays. We've just received all songs for their debut album and we know it was the right decision. They could probably be best compared to KRUX, while it's rather obvious that their main influence are the forefathers of the genre, BLACK SABBATH. And we can bet the fans of TROUBLE, PENTAGRAM, CANDLEMASS, NOMAD SON, SPIRITUS MORTIS and LAS CRUCES will dig them just like we do.

We are happy to welcome this still unknown but fantastic new doom metal band to our small family. On the STONEGRIFF page on our website you can check their biography and more info, including the links to their sites. Their debut full-length "Prologus Magicus" will be out this July.

Commented the band's founder and guitarist Anthony Nichols: "We knew a lot of the same people and decided to have Marc come in and work with producer Rich Spillberg. We are all very excited to work with Marc. He is a talented vocalist and highly motivated to write, tour and record with MELIAH RAGE."

We've had a chance to listen to one MELIAH RAGE song with Marc on vocals - actually this song will be soon released on our next compilation CD "Compendium of Metal Vol. 6". Marc recorded his vocals during his second meeting with the band, and after having heard the song (recorded during the 2011 sessions) for the first time only the previous night, so it was quite spontaneous, especially considering that he also had to write the lyrics within this short time. In spite of these stressful circumstances he did great, and because of this we are positive he will do even better on the album, which, according to Anthony Nichols, will be more aggressive and less melodic than the last one.

Marc Lopes, who hails from New Bedford, Massachusetts, is currently involved with a few other projects including DARK DAY SUNDAY, featuring guitarist Frank Aresti (Fates Warning, Arch/Matheos...) and drummer Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall, Toxik...), HELLSPEAK (also with Bittner), and the '80s metal tribute act METAL:101 (New England), covering live songs of bands like Iron Maiden, Slayer, Metallica, Accept, Anthrax, Metal Church, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Megadeth, Lizzy Borden, Loudness, Helloween, W.A.S.P and others.

First of all, we released "Give Me Metal or Give Me Death" on CD - as limited to 250 units digipak. This, like the tapes, is outside of our regular release schedule. It's the band's first album, recorded in 2007 and released only digitally in 2008 when they made it available for download from their website. Since it contained songs written in their early years (and first time recorded as a demo of the same title in 2003), the songs were not so representative to the band's style when we signed them - this is why at that time we decided to put out "Time of the Sword Rulers" containing 2005 and 2006 EPs as their first official label release. Still, and in spite of the very raw recording, we really enjoyed their early stuff, which was speed metal with some hints of thrash rather than epic heavy metal, though those elements were already present too. So last year we decided to release it on tape format with their first demo as a bonus. The tape is sold out since a long time and now "Give Me Metal..." sees the light of day in the form of our first limited digipak release - without the bonus songs, but instead with all lyrics. Check the page of this album for more details.

The second new SKELATOR release is "Live Chaos" cassette (pro-tape, limited to 66 copies). The band gave us a selection of live songs - fragments of their 3 shows from 2005, 2008 and 2010 recorded from the soundboard. While these recordings are not perfect (and of course there were no overdubs), they're really enjoyable and show perfectly the raw energy the band has on stage and the fun that their concerts are. There are still 25 tapes available at the moment. The track list and more info can be found on the page of this release.

The third audio release of SKELATOR is "Agents of Power" vinyl edition. We have licensed this album to Metalizer Records from Germany and they have done an excellent job. The band provided 5 bonus tracks (one previously unreleased song sung in Spanish "Guerreros de Metal", as well as 4 covers of BARON ROJO, CLOVEN HOOF, METALUCIFER and URIAH HEEP), resulting in a double LP. We have only 17 copies to sell at the moment. The track list of the vinyl edition can be found on the "Agents of Power" CD page.

Last but not least, we have made also T-shirts with the band's latest studio album "Agents of Power" artwork. They were ordered from Fine Arts Merchandising company and look just awesome! As mentioned before, the release of the new album coincided with ATTACKER's appearance at the Metal Assault III festival in Würzburg, Germany, where they shared the stage with MANILLA ROAD, BROCAS HELM, RAVEN, JUTTA WEINHOLD BAND, SKELATOR and others, followed by the headlining show at the Screaming for Metal festival in Madrid, Spain the next night. The band has more shows in the plans, including Childhood Heroes festival in March in New York (with HELSTAR, HERETIC, VIKING and WRATH), Warriors of Metal VI festival in June in Ohio (with MELIAH RAGE, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, STEEL ASSASSIN, TWISTED TOWER DIRE and many others), as well as a 2-week European tour in September including shows in Italy, Greece and at the Ages of Metal festival in Belgium (with MANILLA ROAD, DIAMOND HEAD, TYGERS OF PAN TANG, SPARTAN WARRIOR and others t.b.a.).

"Giants of Canaan" was recorded at Katalomi Studios in New Jersey, engineered and mixed by Patrick "Taps" Guden and drummer Michael Sabatini, and mastered by the renown engineer Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New York. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the band but in spite of their age they have more stamina than many young bands. The new album contains just pure classic heavy/power metal ATTACKER has been known for since years and it perfectly captures what this band is all about.

ATTACKER was formed in 1983 in New Jersey and had their debut album "Battle at Helm's Deep" released on Metal Blade Records in 1985. After the sophomore album "The Second Coming" the band split up in 1989. They came back to the scene 12 years later, in 2001. During that decade 2 full-length albums and a best-of compilation were released. After some hiatus the band recruited a new singer Bobby "Leather Lungs" Lucas (known from SEVEN WITCHES, OVERLORDE and MORBID SIN) and bassist Jon Hanemann, who replaced Lou Ciarlo in April 2012. With those two new musicians, the founding members Mike Sabatini (drums) and Pat Marinelli (guitars), as well as Mike Benetatos (guitars) who's been in the band since the reunion, ATTACKER recorded their 5th album "Giants of Canaan".
